Name what's actually stuck.
One call. You describe where you are; I ask the questions that get past the surface. Together we figure out the real problem — not "I need a new resume," but what's underneath that.
Most people aren't stuck because they lack experience — they're stuck because no one has helped them see what that experience actually means. That's the work. Resumes, LinkedIn, transferable-skills coaching, and interview prep — done with a real partner who actually cares whether this works for you.
No 10-page intake form. Just an honest conversation, a clear picture of what your experience is actually worth, and a concrete next step.
One call. You describe where you are; I ask the questions that get past the surface. Together we figure out the real problem — not "I need a new resume," but what's underneath that.
Most people underestimate what they bring. I dig into your full career history, identify the transferable-skills story you haven't told yet, and show you where those skills open doors you may not have considered.
Resume, LinkedIn, interview prep — all rebuilt around the story we found. Concrete, ATS-ready, and honest. You leave with something you can actually use.
Some people come in knowing exactly what they need. Others just know something isn't working. Either way, we start the same — figure out what's true, then do something useful about it.
I'm Matt Magstadt — based in Marion, Iowa, with 20+ years of career history across more roles than most people see in a lifetime: product management, SaaS customer success, retail leadership, marketing agency work, training teams at Verizon and Apple, and running a small business of my own. I've had to figure out what my own background was worth more than once — when it didn't fit a clean job title, when I was changing industries, when the obvious next step wasn't obvious anymore.
And I've helped a lot of people through that same thing. The pattern is consistent: most people are farther along than they realize, and the work is in the translation — naming what's actually true about you and saying it in a way that lands for the audience you're trying to reach. That's what I bring here. Not a credential, but a real understanding of how careers actually move, because I've watched it happen many times — including my own.
I love God and follow the Bible's teachings; that should show up in ordinary ways here: integrity, straight answers, careful work, and being more concerned with whether you succeed than whether you book another session.
Every service has a published price in the Services section — no estimate needed before you know what something costs. Resume Rewrite is $265, LinkedIn Overhaul is $175, the Resume + LinkedIn Bundle is $349, and coaching sessions are priced per session. The Career Reset Session ($150) is the right starting point if you're not sure which service fits. If your situation doesn't map cleanly to what's listed, we'll talk through scope on a free call before any quote.
That's the work I lean into. Most career services optimize the document you already have. The transferable-skills work here is foundational — identifying capabilities that traveled with you across industries and finding language that makes those skills legible to a new audience. People are usually farther along than they think.
The Career Reset Session includes a written summary delivered within 2 business days of the call. Resume and LinkedIn work is typically 4–5 business days from the initial conversation. If you're booking both through the Bundle, they're written together so there's no extra lag. Coaching sessions are scheduled when it works for both of us.
Yes. Early-career and recent-grad work is usually a Career Reset Session or a Resume + LinkedIn pairing — same approach, scoped to where you are. If you're stretching for a first promotion or pivoting from your first job, the transferable-skills work matters just as much.
I'll tell you. If your situation isn't a good match for how I work, I'll say so on the first call and, where I can, point you to someone better suited. Wasted engagements are bad for both of us.
No hard sell. Send a few sentences about where you are and what you're trying to figure out, and I'll get back to you within one or two business days.
